The Americans really did get him

I am no fan of Bush, Obama (haha oh God no), or America's war on terror in particular, nor do I hate America for enacting such a war. Its an imperial nation with an imperial impact on the world and this is fine and normal. (And if you thought Americans abused the world, Wait till China finishes modernizing its navy). There have always been such nations and always will be.

But I saw the twitter alert last night before going to bed that Bin Laden was dead, called bullshit. Went to sleep. the reason I called bullshit is not because I believed him to be already dead (as some anti-war folk liked to believe) but because of the high likelihood it was a body double. I am more then familiar in studying guerrilla and terrorist warfare and indeed have experienced some of it first hand, (lol Northern Ireland motherfuckers), and having body doubles is sensible for leader figures to have when in grave danger. Leaders of the civilised world have them, highly organised revolutionary and terrorist groups have them, it is just common sense when the liklihood of you being shot in the head is very fucking high.

Now despite all of this, people are already calling shenanigans on America's claim to have killed Osama. Saying it is a publicity stunt. As a fine conniseur of cynicism myself, I would normally find such claims a little appealing intellectually, but am honest enough when presented with evidence to the contrary to amend or at least re-evaluate my positions.

What was this evidence that leads me to suspect the Americans REALLY got the REAL Osama?

Splinter cells across the world are already promising vengence for the death of osama and al quieda leaders, (the ones America has admitted haven't been killed yet) are promising Al Quieda can still function without Osama and he will be a martyr figure.

This paused any cynical notions in my head. As it should do yours. If only to make you rethink the immediate evidence and your previous stance on them.

An amusing fact, the Kingdom of Suadi Arabia, Osama's birthplace, have refused to accept his body when the Americans offered them it. The Suads are allies, tentitive, but allies nonetheless and the Americans were most likely trying to be prudent by seeing if the Sauds would be pissed if they just claimed the body outright. They weren't but that is to be expected, as far as the Suads are concerned, Osama was a revolutionary heretic..
